I wonder, how does this comport with MIDI software synths? 
A typical use case involves an audio device without hardware midi support, so 
users may want to run a software synth (a-la timidity's ALSA sequencer 
daemon). But said synth will use vmix, which means users have to choose 
between recording source selection or running a software synth.
