Unfortunately some old OSS audio applications require a mixer device to 
run. The fake mixer feature had to be added to the envy24/ht driver 
because real/helix encoder doesn't work without a mixer that can be used 
to select the recording source (most professional devices don't have 
this kind of capability). It was not possible to use high end audio 
cards such as M-Audio Delta 1010 for real/helix streaming until the fake 
mixer was added.
